Ich weiß gar nicht was ich schreiben soll. Es war viel, es war schlimm, es war traurig. Nein, erschütternd.

Die Kindheit und Jugend von Tara Westover war für mich schon beim Lesen kaum zu ertragen. Ich habe keinen blassen Schimmer, wie eine Frau das so gut überstehen kann. Ich habe größten Respekt vor ihrer Resilienz und wie sie es trotz all der Hürden im Leben geschafft hat so erfolgreich zu studieren.

Ich kann das Buch nur empfehlen, wenn man über Gewalt und Gaslighting gut lesen kann. Man kommt hier wirklich an seine Grenzen.

UGH.  This book was way too long and boring.  I actually believe her story, but this book is very tedious and repetitive.  And before I decided to listen to this audiobook, I wish I would've noticed that the author doesn't narrate it.  I am used to listening to memoirs with the author's voice, which makes the story more emotional.  This audiobook felt so stiff and void of emotion.
