I loved the Beach House and Swimming lessons was good too, this is awful. I skipped and skimmed a lot of the Heather chapters. I'm supposed to believe an agoraphobic person with severe social anxiety falls in love with the handy man 5 minutes after meeting him?! And the author keeps piling on the suffering for Cara. The book didn't flow or make me want to keep coming back to it about the beach and the turtles like the other ones in the series. I don't know if I will read #5 or not.

Mary Alice Monroe returns us to the Isle of Palms with her lighthearted story of two women Heather and Cara who are brought together through loss and tragedy. They meet when Heather, a recluse whose recovering from the loss of her mother, rents Cara's Beach Cottage for the summer. A business relationship that changes quickly when Cara suffers her own loss and wants to return to the beach house herself. They soon form an unlikely bond as they work their way together through grief, family, new love and new beginnings.
If you are looking for a good beach read Mary Alice Monroe always delivers a delightful book with entertaining and down to earth characters. I loved Beach House For rent!

Cara and Heather are the main characters in this book each is living a life with guilt and grief each for there own reasons. At first I was not sure what to think of this book. I think like some books this one is one were you really enjoyed some of the book and other parts you didn't like so much. The first few chapters the author explained a lot of details and each characters lives and not a lot of monologue which caused the book to start off kind of slow.. However after that the chapters changed and people really started to be add to the story which seemed to bring the life in the story. The characters were fun and enjoyable and then you find yourself connecting with them and really feeling like you are reading a letter from a friend. I really enjoyed Heather and how in her hardest time she still found hope, and courage in the most unlikely place and people. I did not like how in part of the story the author did not follow up with a huge part in Heather's life, I kept wanting to know what happened. This book does have some adult language/scenes but very minimal and over all it was nice. I would say that this love story is worth the read and so fun.

Mary Alice Monroe is a wonderful writer and I enjoy being lost in her world. She should not read her own books.

Fun, easy read set on an island in South Carolina. I loved the environmental aspects of the book. The characters didn't really do it for me though.
