This is an excellent second installment to the Deadlands trilogy. I found the character depth to be particularly good for a middle grade novel. The war in Cretacea is simple enough for children to understand while still managing to have some nuance. I am impressed by the amount of depth that has been packed in to a children's novel about dinosaurs. Overall, I am anxiously awaiting the third installment.

Thank you to the author, publisher and netgalley for the free copy in exchange for my honest review.

Very solid read, great action scenes and character development. There was 1 scene that I thought was a bit gruesome for a Middle Grade book. Enjoyed it and thought it was better written than the first. You can see Skye learned and adapted with this book.
