This story worked for me on every level. I loved its imaginative spin on fairy tales, I loved the issues it raised regarding the ways in which society trains women to see themselves a particular way, I loved the writing, and I loved the characters. I would so read a LOT more like this from this author.

This was a very fun take on the evil stepmothers and mothers of the most well known princesses. I liked the way their stories were retold and how the mothers weren't all that awful. It was just when you were a kid, anything your mother does to discipline you seemed like the worst thing and that they are awful, even though they really aren't. I loved it and I cannot wait to read more from this series.
