This series is one of my new favorites. With a modern kick-ass main character with an ancient protective fae. This combination is my kryptonite. The second book usually bores me. That was not the case for this book. There were so many twists and turns that it kept my attention the whole time.

Plus the spicy scenes are amazing. Can't wait to read the next two.

WOW! In my opinion there was more world building in this book than rhapsodic. The first book was merely an introduction to callie with background to who she is. This book gave you more in depth background to who des is and his world.

There’s a plot twist and once you get closer to the reveal, you can already guess what’s going to happen.

the spice was a 2/5 - really enjoyed the building of love and how they’re bound

As far as temptress, I agree with the other reviews, it’s problematic to create a black character and not do the work. It seems poorly written and just like TV the side who’s there for comedic relief or to show off her “angry” side, just very on the nose stereotypes.

There are mentions of rape but just the discussion of it, not necessarily the action occurring or going in depth of the rape

This book series is really a romance book with very little development of the plot. I really think the author could have created an amazing plot and world building, but instead it focuses on just romance between the characters and sex, a lot of it. Which don't get me wrong is perfectly fine, but after the 10th time reading about their interactions with no plot going on it gets a bit boring.
