It took so much effort to make it through i don’t really know why, It’s not a bad book at all, I think it might be the characters, I’m not sure why but I just don’t really care for them.
It was a quick and fun read for the most part but once again I’m not into this whole miscommunication trope it’s cringy for me.

I read other Meryl Wilsner books and really enjoyed them but I never gave this one a chance because I couldn't really relate to the synopsis. I thought it was going to be yet another sports romance.
I should've known better, given that Wilser always makes her characters very 3-dimensional and clearly crafts them with love and care.
After I heard that ATouch More is going to turn it into a movie, my curiosity got the better of me and I gave it a shot. And boy, am I glad I did.
This book handles neurodiversity so well, I almost cried. It is such a nuanced portrayal of ADHD and Autism, and there is never any judgement.
There is trans inclusiveness and non-binary characters.
There is friendship, love, tension and so many other things that make this book an absolute gem.
I really hope they will do it justice when they write the script.

dnf at 90%. when one of the two main characters started diagnosing the other with adhd and trying to go about ways to “solve” that I got too frustrated. There were a lot of confusing and off putting social interactions/aspects in this book that I kind of just huh…and moved on from but towards the end, they piled up and got too annoying to deal with. Great idea, poor execution.

This was a cute story, but my favourite by Wilsner will (I think) always be Something to Talk About. I was less invested in the main romance in this one, and there were a few moments that struck me as odd. At one point Grace schedules an ADHD assessment for Phoebe without her knowledge, which just felt really invasive and inconsiderate considering that some people don't actually want a diagnosis and Phoebe's opinion on the matter isn't 100% clear. There's also a scene where Grace jokes about not labeling herself as queer and Phoebe immediately assumes the only reason a lesbian wouldn't identify that way is because they're a terf and think queer is a slur. I understand that Wilsner wants to keep terfs away from their work, but the whole thing was very immersion-breaking. I really enjoyed Grace's arc with her family though, that was really heartwarming. This was still a good book overall though, and I don't think most people would care about the things I found jarring.
