Enjoy it greatly. Love reading anything pertaining to King Arthur , Merlin. Very adventurous. Love all the mythical creature within the story. If you enjoy elves, dwarves, fairies and of course Morgannia you deeply enjoy this book.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I've always been intrigued by the Camelot story, and love reading retellings of this famous legend. This story puts a completely unique spin on the classic tale, switching major roles around and adding a decidedly feminist twist to the classically male-dominated story. These are all things that speak to me, but ultimately, this wasn't a story that I could fully get invested in. However, there were some things that I loved.

The connection between Arynn and Malik was great. It's a classic slow-burn best friends to lovers story. These two have great chemistry throughout the story, and I was hoping that they'd be able to make the leap from friends to more during this story, and I wasn't disappointed. These two were so supportive and encouraging of each other and it was great to see.

While there are dragons marginally involved in the original story, they play a major role in this story. They're more directly involved in this book, with the main characters pairing up with dragons, who have their own unique personalities and are so loving and protective.

There are some things that stopped me from loving this story though. The book is slow-paced. While there are some small bursts of action, for the most part, there isn't a lot going on for large portions of the book. The pace was inconsistent, mainly slow but occasionally speeding up. Ultimately, this made it hard to stay focused on the story. By the end of the story, I realized that this entire book is just setting up the story for the next book, which is always disappointing, since I realized that I've spent all this time reading a book only to be forced to read the next book to get to the action.

Ultimately, there are some good things about the story, but there weren't enough to make me want to read the rest of the series.
