I'll never look at Campbell's Chunky Soup the same way again...

Disclaimer: I received an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

The rabies virus has mutated, and it has a 100% infection rate. Worse, it has a 100% mortality rate. Everyone has it, and there's no escape. The only thing you can do is protect those you love for as long as possible. And that is what our main character does. He holds out hope for his family, especially his two little girls, not that they will survive (because they all know that's impossible), but that they will make it through one more day together.

This is a short story that hits the point head-on and doesn't let up. It's a quick read, but it's definitely powerful, and it certainly strikes a nerve. As the book jacket says, it's scary because it not only *could* happen, but in these days of chemical and biological experimentation and warfare, as well as just good old-fashioned viral mutation, it *might* happen. Chew on that for a while...
