I’ve had Shadow and Bone on my radar for a while, so I was excited to see a graphic novel adaptation of the prequel. Eryk is a compelling character.

I adored this graphic novel, definitely continued the darkling lore in an interesting way but never quite let him be the hero—it was interesting the many moral questions fit into just a short story—and how surprising the ending was (never saw it coming!). Overall I definitely enjoyed reading this. It can easily be read in on sitting and has very pretty artwork too.
