In my opinion this would have been a great duology. However ReSet and ReBorn should have been only one book. I want a third book but mainly because it would (hopefully) answer my of my questions as a reader from the first book.

Would I recommend this series to others? Absolutely if they’re looking for a good, quick dystopian series from an indie author. One major thing I noticed that was missing from the first book that seemed to be relatively addressed in the second book, was the lack of diversity in the characters. It felt that majority of the 500 people saved by Jeffers were white. We got to see some diversity in ReBorn. I’m curious to know if that was intentional (from Jeffers POV) or in general what Jeffers qualifying factors were to make the cut.

I also really appreciated Tommy’s plot twist. I felt like it gave his character more depth that was truly lacking from the first book. And I love a good redemption story. I think it gave me a little empathy towards DeeDee’s character a bit, too.

Overall great read! I wish more of my burning questions were answered because I have so many questions about the U.S. before, how Jeffers pulled it off, the integration, how people were chosen, and the rest of the world’s reaction.
