I’m intrigued, but not completely sold. I can’t decide if I like the plot twist at the end or hate it.

I got little glimmers of the writing I loved from the Priest series, but this didn’t hit quite as hard for me.

LOL. Why is this rated so high? This is one of the most fan-fic style read, it was poorly researched and not even remotely close to American politics the way it should have been. The only reason I gave it two stars was because the spice was good. But everything else was so weird and hyper-unrealistic. I get that it's fiction, but if you're going to write a book about the president and VP, make it at least seem like it's somewhat based in reality.

This book was just kind of mid. I loved Embry as a character, but I ended up really not liking Greer or Ash. Ash is like a walking red flag. There are so many things he does that are just not good even though he's supposed to be the heroic one. Greer was just pathetic and spineless.
The relationship between Embry and Greer felt more real than the relationship between Ash and Greer. There wasn't a ton of plot in the book. It was starting to like ramp up at the end of the book. Even though the book ended on a cliffhanger, I'm not planning to read the rest of this series.
