Definitely my favourite out of the series. Everything from the queer representation (especially Daisy being a lesbian), Daisy treating Hazel as more of an equal, the unexpected twist at the end, everything to me was perfect. I had NO idea who the murderer was the entire time and I was so shocked. This is a book I could read over and over and never get bored off.

As Hazel and Daisy grow older they face even more opposition to their Detective Society than when it was founded. Once again Robin Stevens has created an exhilarating mystery which is almost impossible to put down and manages to weave important issues seamlessly into the storyline. I'm cross with myself for reading it so fast because now I have to wait months for the next instalment.

At first it didn't have the same vibe as the previous books but it might have something to do with me reading 4 books in this series almost straight, perhaps it’s a bit much!
