Between the author stating that girls are “illogical,” unmarried women have “sinned against passion and truth” and the hero kissing someone after she says no, I couldn’t take the message of the book seriously. Plus it was boring.

Një roman acarues në kulm. Shumë predikime mbi jetën nga personazhe mendjengushtë, personazhe që bëjnë para mbrapa pa ditur ç'duan, komente përçmuese për italianët nga anglezët (gjë që unë nuk e gëlltis dot). Megjithatë ka përshkrime të këndshme, fund të lezetshëm, dhe zotërinjtë Emerson mbi të cilët mund të ishte hedhur një dritë më fortë. Viva l'amore!!!

A romantic, hopeful, gorgeously atmospheric story of love, social mores, and self-discovery, set against a stunning backdrop. I found this both funny and moving, adored the sense of place, and let myself be totally swept up in the story.

At times boring and a bit slow, I enjoyed the overall story. There were a few exciting parts that kept it going! 

I will say this was a super slow book for how short it is…
