I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Serpent Loop is the second installment of the Zane Clearwater series. Just like the previous book, we are still following the lives of Zane and his sister Lettie. With his new job being a security guard at a carnival, the last thing he would ever expect to happen is witnessing a murder. On top of that, his sister was also there and is somehow involved. Or that's the train of thought immediately being created within Zane's mind. Either way, he needs to figure out what's happening and a way out of it fast.

Honestly, so much happened in this. I think things probably would have gone down a bit easier or smoother if Lettie didn't somehow get away. Her leaving while the police are questioning was not a good sign. On top of that, Zane starts freaking out trying to figure out where she actually went. So, while trying to find her he doesn't expect to uncover so many things along the way.

With each twist and turn, I was completely hooked. The overall mystery and pace were pretty good in my opinion. I never felt bored or lost when it came to certain situations and just wanted to know what was going to happen next.

In the end, I'm very happy that I came across this series. Not sure if these two are going to walk into another unfortunate murder situation but I wouldn't be mad if they did.

I read this in less than 24 hours because once I started reading I couldn't stop until I found out the truth. Zane, a 26-year-old recovering f***-up has guardianship over his 15-year-old sister, Lettie, and it is clear that she is falling down a bad path. Cue, a murder, an investigation, and a cross-country chase. Lipinski's characters are dynamic and relatable, and I was was hooked by page 2. If you like mystery, thriller, and also a little chaos, you've gotta read this! Beautiful language, and very fun ride.

I am so happy for a sequel of Bloodlines - there is something about down-on-his-luck Zane and innocent Lettie that invested me in their lives and kept me wanting more. I was even excited to see Old Spice, although he takes an understandably lesser role than in Bloodlines.

When a fight at Zane‰ЫЄs work ends up with one person dead and the other loose and unidentified, Zane has more questions than answers. What connection does Lettie have with these lowlifes? What else has Lettie been hiding from him? Zane attempts to stay ahead of the investigation to protect Lettie, but loses the advantage when Lettie takes off. Can Zane find her before anyone else does? Can Zane keep her safe?

It can be a bit nerve wracking going into a sequel of a murder mystery - will the second book follow the same pattern as the first or blaze a new trail? I was relieved it was the latter. Serpent Loop hooked me quick and kept me guessing until the end. I loved being able to take the twists with surprise and I had forgotten how much I missed rooting for Zane and Lettie, even when they make questionable choices.

It‰ЫЄs so hard reviewing a mystery because I‰ЫЄm dying to share my ‰ЫПOMG‰Ыќ, ‰ЫПWTH‰Ыќ, ‰ЫПWhhhhhhy‰Ыќ moments, but I can‰ЫЄt without spoiling anything. It‰ЫЄs fair, but‰Ы_ not‰Ы_ so let‰ЫЄs just say that when things unfold, they keep a little bit of unpredictability to keep you guessing. You may be right, but you will catch a few surprises.

Since Serpent Loop is a sequel, I recommend reading Bloodlines first. Serpent Loop will definitely spoil the mystery of Bloodlines AND I adore Zane and Lettie so.. 2 books = 2 times the time spent with them = more time you can adore them too. But‰Ы_ if you absolutely can‰ЫЄt wait, Serpent Loop can be read as a stand-alone. The plot of Bloodlines flows into Serpent Loop via flashbacks so anyone not familiar with the first book gets a good picture of what Zane and Lettie have been through.

Thank you to Lynn Lipinski for the opportunity to read and review this book prior to the release date in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.

Lipinski has done it. Why has it taken me this long to read a mystery/suspense book?
This is not my normal genre but I have to say I loved the pacing and the storyline of this woven tale. I am a sucker for any sibling dynamic and I really connected with Zane as a very real character with charming flaws but lots of grit and determination. The lush landscape of Lipinski's world is fantastic as she tells you a tale that will pluck at your heartstrings as you root for the good guys to win!

It was such an honor to read this ARC. I absolutely fell in love with Bloodlines, and Serpent Loop was a fantastic dive deeper into these characters lives after what happened. An intriguing mystery following Lettie with a strong arc as Zane comes to terms with his guardianship over her. I fell into this world and fell more in love with these characters. The feel-good ending had me satisfied yet wanting even more.

Serpent Loop is the sequel to Lynn Lipinski’s Bloodlines, which I read in June.

Zane is trying his best to raise his sister Lettie, after their mother was murdered. Things settled down and luckily Zane was cleared of the charges, as he was a suspect.

They no longer live at the trailer park but life is still hard and Zane has to work two jobs. He is finding it very difficult to be a good guardian and being able to provide for them.

While working at a carnival a guy gets knifed/killed and Lettie is somehow involved. Apparently she’s in the wrong (criminal) crowd and Zane will have to do everything he can to protect his little sister.

Will he be able to stay one step ahead and get her out of the trouble she’s in? Or has trouble finally caught up with them?

Loved this book! The characters are relatable and go through difficult/hard times, just like we might have. It has suspense and is an easy read.

One thing is clear, family is important and wouldn’t we all want to protect those we love at all cost?

We all love Zane & Lettie that’s why we are are here right??? This book was a crazy ride! Zane once again is just in the worst place at the worst time. This boy is like a danger magnet!!! The whole book was and up and down and back and forth of who did it. Also can I just say Angel is the sweetest!!! I am praying for a book 3 about these 3 characters I am so not ready to leave their lives yet!

This read was SO fast paced. I almost struggled to keep up with how fast this plotline was because things were happening left, right and centre! It's action packed, clever and flows nicely, and despite how quick and short this read is, you as the reader still feel as though getting to know the characters wasn't too rushed and you had a good sense of them.

Short quick chapters make reading this a breeze where there are no boring info dumps, rather action, action, action. However where you'd expect at the end, a huge crime and bloody battle that spans for pages, you really just get a closing scene that lasts a page. This can be a good thing or a bad thing. I think I would've preferred a more elaborate ending.
