As a fan of the series, this was a fun read for me. However, I don’t think I would have enjoyed this book if it didn’t involve Mulder and Scully. The plot was interesting enough, but I wasn’t super invested in the story. I also got the vibe that the writer was infatuated with Scully, as he barely described Mulder (I think he said he had puffy hair and that was the extent of it), but described Scully in detail including the size of her breasts. Overall, this book was okay but it doesn’t make me want to read any of the other X files books if I’m being honest.

Given that this is an X-Files book, I wanted to like it much more than I did, but it was tough to get through. Not super compelling. Not the worst X-Files story ever told, but definitely not one of the best.

This book's story was true to a certain style of X-Files episodes. Unfortunately it's my least favorite style.

The writing was okay. I felt it was a little . . . much at times.

My biggest complaint is that it didn't have enough Mulder and Scully, and when the two did show up they weren't very true to character. It may have been a better book without the X-Files association.

I would unenthusiastically recommend it to X-Files fans.
