This novella was so cute! I loved finding out that Amberly was able to have a child after all, and that the series would center around him and his Selection. Maxon is at once a child and adult. He has so many worries that a person of his age should not, yet he handles them with as much grace as he can.
I was so proud of him when he didn’t make the easy choice and begin to date his childhood friend. He could’ve just settled for an option that would have been safe, but he decided to be truthful and honest about his own feelings and go after a love match rather than a tactful one. I hope The Selection can provide the love match he’s looking for!

It's been a while since I read fairy/princess tales! :) And it's great when you think of the "what ifs" that it's going to be possible. Well, we're not in a monarchical nation but atleast hoping there's going to be that prince charming who will be your future husband to sweep off your feet is just as breathtaking. :)

The Prince is a preview of the life before The Selection. Prince Maxon celebrates his 20th birthday and in due time, he will be choosing his future wife and will be the reigning king. Fair enough, I feel he's not like most princes who just follow orders and choose. Somehow, there's this lady who really got his attention before the event and he knew despite her not respecting him enough, she'll top in the choices. Let's see how it goes in the main event. :)

I love seeing the start of the selection from Prince Maxon point of view. It gave great insight on what he was thinking and crossed paths with some of the parts in the first book!

It was a nice glimpse at what's going on in Maxon's head and I really enjoyed reading it. I just think that the description is a bit misleading and because of that I was expecting the novella to be very different from what it actually turned out ot be.

this series is going to bring me back from my thriller and mystery reading, serious self.

for the past month, i read only the same genre which somewhat unknowingly disturbed and made me forget the aura i used to feel when i would enjoy every page of the book. don't get me wrong, i am in LOVE with the thrillers (always gonna be on top) though the point here is i forgot, how happily excited i used to get when i was reading these cute romance books or ever romantasy as a matter-of-fact.

while reading this book, i just know im gonna lve the entire series (god please let that become true). it brings so much nostalgia of me reading the romance genre and yet its so different from all them at the same time.

that may be because of the dystopian setting but with kings and queens. and i absolutely love the MMC and FMC. i mean the chemistry they built in just the novella was awesome, i can't wait to read the actual book, and furthermore, the series.

i am actually excited.
