DNF at 10% because the hero called someone a "dyke." I get that it's dated, but NOPE.

5/5 !!!

When I say it's like a novela pulled straight out of a Spanish soap opera, believe it. The dynamic between Tate and Avery was an emotional rollercoaster I didn't mind being on. I'd give Avery's dedication a standing ovation because I was really rooting for her.

A page turner that keeps you guessing right up to the end.
The enthralling plot combines the right amounts of suspense and romance. I often re-read it to remind myself of truly captivating writing.

Not very surprising culmination, I kinda guessed who is the main villain from the beginning...

The misogyny, racism and homophobia in this book was crazy I kept getting whiplash. But I guess that’s what I got for reading a book published in 1990.

It was an okay read. Tate did not grovel enough for me though. After all of that verbal abuse (granted he’d had no idea that it was Avery) and Avery took him back immediately just like that?? I get that the romance wasn’t really the focus here but what the hell.
