Have to say the pacing was a little fast for my liking, but the general feeling of terror was perfect. I genuinely had to put the book down a few times because of the fear of what may happen next.

To be honest, this barely made the 3-star mark for me. The reason I am giving it three stars is because I recognize what the author is going for with this novel, though it’s not my cup-of-tea.

I’m not sure where the science fiction classification comes from, for me this was not a science fiction novel. Maybe it's because of the post-apocalyptic nature of the story that attributes to people giving it a science fiction classification. For me, the story was potentially post-apocalyptic, because frankly we simply do not know. But overall not a science fiction story.

The book grants a rare insight into life in a reservation, especially for me as a European it was eye opening.

I can see why this book is receiving 4 and 5 star ratings, it just wasn’t for me. It ended too abruptly and too many questions are left unanswered. I also found the story fairly predictable.
