I have read this book a few times and I just can't get over how great it is. The characters and their interactions feel so real and relatable, and I can't help but feel the grief that Sydney goes through. I've always been a fan of Savannah Brown's writing style, and this went above and beyond my expectations.

I did not like this book, it was drawn out, exasperatingly slow with characters that seemed dull to me. Long-winded descriptions and numerous fillers made this book unbearable. Finished as I do not DNF but wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

I don't want to say too much about this book, but it was a fun read. And also a bit depressing. It talks about death and grief a lot. And also LGBTQ+, as the main character is gay.

*Spoilers: nothing too blatant but if you like to be completely surprised by all aspects of a book, then it might be best to just skip this review*
One of my favorite YA novels I’ve read. None of the emotions in this book feel like they’ve been watered-down for the younger audience and I feel like the book was incredibly honest because of that. While the ending wasn’t quite as satisfactory as I’d hoped, it fit so perfectly with the story the author was telling. There aren’t always precise answers or conclusions in your life and this novel handled that concept, as well as the concept of death and loss, very well.
Bonus points for the two poems in the back of my paperback copy. Savannah Brown is a talented writer for sure, I genuinely can’t believe this is only her first novel! So excited to read her next and the next and hopefully the next after that.

Love. Recommended. Heavy. Raw. Real. Exactly what I needed in the midst of my own existential crisis.
