I loved, loved, loved this book. It had everything I wanted in a book. This paranormal rom-com has a sassy witch and a delicious, oops sorry, I meant scary, demon. When Mariel accidentally summons Ozroth she doesn't know what to do. The two seems like they can't find a compromise or tell the truth so they resort to fake dating, but spending time together brings their feelings closer until they both need to make a decision on where they stand.

The fake dating plus the sunshine and grumpy tropes go perfectly well together, especially with the magical elements mixed in it.

I was lucky enough to receive a digital copy via the publisher on NetGalley, but when the book released I had to buy my own physical copy to reread.

3 stars for me.

This was decent? I desperately needed to be pulled out of a reading slump and this did the trick in a day. It was cheesy and predictable, but just enough good that I liked it on vibes. Mariel and Oz were fun, there were definitely some really great moments between them. Overall, the characters felt very over the top and extra dramatic, which is a big part of the slightly lower rating. It was like the difference in seeing a movie and a Broadway show. Overall, it was a great easy read, almost palate cleanser.

Overall I enjoyed this book, but at almost 400 pages it did drag a bit in the middle. I really enjoyed how the characters grew and the angst bit at the end was unexpected.  That all being said, I probably won't continue the series since I have no interest in the next couple.

A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon is a lighthearted, adorable, and humorous read. There were many aspects of this story that I loved and enjoyed, but there were some parts that I didn't like so much.
Spoiler Mariel (FMC) and Calladia's (Mariel's best friend) mothers are horrible and over the top. They were very superficial and borderline cruel. I also didn't care for the build-up of the relationship between Mariel and Oz (MMC), only for it to ALL be washed away by very little evidence in what was essentially a third-act breakup. While it was fairly short-lived, I was frustrated that Mariel just instantly jumped to Oz lying to her after all the evidence to the contrary.
All of that being said, I did truly enjoy reading this book and thought it was funny and entertaining. The book also left some hints about the main characters for the next book, and I'm looking forward to reading about them.
