I really enjoyed this story. The beginning was a little slow for me because I wasn't really a huge fan of all the fashion talk, but once Schuyler found out she was a vampire the story really picked up. I was a huge fan of the vampires in this story. They seemed different from other vampires and I really liked the twist the author put in the story.

Throughout the story I was constantly trying to figure out who was killing off the young vampires and I must say I never guessed until it was revealed. I really liked who it ended up being because it made the story even more interesting.

I loved Schuyler. She was smart and different and she didn't try to conform to what everyone else was doing. I really liked that about her. She was a highly interesting character and I loved how when she was told not worry about what was killing off the vampires she jumped headlong into the mystery just to try and figure it out. Oliver was my favorite. He was such a great friend and he cared deeply for Schuyler. I kind of kept hoping that Schuyler would end up with Oliver but at the same time I don't think it would be a good idea.

If you're like me and you love vampire stories I definitely recommend checking this one out. The take on vampires is pretty different and the story is engaging and full of suspense. I will definitely be continuing with this series and I cannot wait to see what happens to Schuyler and her friends next.

If I had to describe this book in one sentence it would be Gossip Girls but with vampires. That's it, you don't need to know anything else about it.

I think I understand why this story had me gripped when I read it years ago. The plot is good, it's not your usual vampire-meets-human-and-falls-in-love story. There is this whole vampire world where vampires live forever, but not in the same body, they are reborn, cycle after cycle. They carry the memories of their past lives with them, they are linked to people for eternity, there are angels and demons and it's a real cool plot for a vampire story!
Thing is, the writing and the development of the story is very underwhelming. Everything is rushed and even the "love story" between Schuyler and Jack doesn't get a proper build-up: they see each other, fall in love, things get complicated, they separate, that's it.

I found Schuyler so annoying. Every time I was reading her parts I had to remind myself that she was 15 and that that was probably the reason why she was so annoying. I mean, her best friend is pissed at her because she dumped him at a party to go flirt with another guy, completely forgot about him until said guy she was flirting with doesn't give her the attention she wants and so she went back to her best friend. But it's his fault because he's the one who's jealous. Girl, get a grip.
Also, what was up with us in 2009 to think that being dirty was cool? Like... She literally said that she hadn't washed her hair in a couple of weeks. Yikes. That's nasty.

I'm very conflicted on whether reading the following books or not. I already have 4 of them, so I wouldn't be spending money on them but at the same time, I don't know if I'm up to spending my time on reading a book I'm not really interested in. I'll put this series on hold for the moment and see what happens in the future.

Very good. It was a different take on Vampire. they were fallen angels who fell to earth. They died and then come back from the past. And sthey can shifts though their memories to find another people. it's very good. I love this book. this is my second time reading.

With all the vampire hype that has been going on for the past few years, this was a breath of fresh air. I'm going to get the second one right away!

The writing style was completely obnoxious to me. The narrator changed from sentence to sentence--result being that it was implied that every character knew everyone else's motivation for the things that they did... which was frustrating and made it seem very juvenile. Granted it's teen fantasy... but since that's the majority of what I've read lately this could have been done much better. That being said, I think there's potential in the story and I'm intrigued as to what happens to the characters, so I will be reading the next book in the series.

Gossip Girl (the books, without the drugs and sex) meets House of the Night or something. The book is fun, fast and not going to challenge anything but your sense of self. That is to say, "Why did I read this book?" Or maybed "Why did I like it that much?" Maybe it's the fever talking, but for a teen this is spot on and for an adult it's a good read for DMV lines. Get'em scooby gang.

THat being said, this might be a spoiler: I can't get my head around the innate trust after ONE piece of proof.
