Loving the introduction of new characters and the focus shift to Sebastian's life. This is a great sequel to the original two Clifton Chronicles; can't wait to read the third!

This book was quite political, especially the first half, so it took me a while to get into the story. But then Martinez stepped onto the page and everything changed. Ugh, I love this series and the characters a lot. Harry, Emma, Giles, Grace, Seb, Jessica... and I can't believe this ended on ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER. Is Jeffrey Archer trying to kill me? Most likely; yes.

Μου αρέσουν οι χαρακτήρες της σειράς.
Το 1ο μισό έδειχνε να ήταν πολύ καλύτερο από το επιεικώς μέτριο The Sins of the Father, στη συνέχεια όμως έκανε τρελή κοιλιά.
Άσε που τον καμβά του ιστορικού μυθιστορήματος (που ήταν βασικό συστατικό στοιχείο στο πρώτο βιβλίο της σειράς) τον έχει παραμερίσει σε ρόλο κομπάρσου. Αν δεν ήταν καλό το 1ο μέρος θα βαθμολογούσα χαμηλότερα...

I'm so sucked into this series now! Yes, it can be a bit predictable, but there are a few twists and turns. New villians, new plots, same family!
This book encompasses Sebastian's growing up - Really showing that he is the favorite of the household - but is he?
Giles is up for re-election as an MP - but who decides to run against him?
Harry is yet again a best selling author - but why is he going undercover?

A fast-paced read, the third book in the Clifton Chronicles is set primarily in the 1950s and like the first two in the series ends with a cliffhanger. This volume centers around how the lives of Harry, Giles, and Emma have turned out since the inheritance ruling is made. It also begins to tell the tale of the next generation, mainly Harry and Emma's son Sebastian. The saga continues to be compelling and does a good job of moving through the decades. Political intrigue, international travel, and scheming backstabbers all add to the plot. It will be interesting to see how the Clifton Chronicles proceed through the 1960s and keep moving to the present!

Continuing the Clifton saga.... who will inherit the Barrington title and possessions ? Will Emma and Harry be able to marry? and so on. can't possible not read the next! I'm glad I didn't find this series when it was brand new; I couldn't have survived waiting months for the next installment!

I should have reviewed this series individually. I couldn't. Simply there was not enough time between me putting one book down and wanting to read the next to allow this.
Years ago I read a number of Jeffrey Archer novels and now I have picked up this new offering from him I am wondering why I left it so long to read more. This story winds itself through the main character Harry Clifton's life. The first book uses the ages of Harry from birth until war starts when Harry is a relatively a young man. The second book covers another decade in his life and the third book covers another portion of his life up to having children of his own.
The characters are well written and as well as the main character of Harry Clifton there is a diverse supporting cast that are equally as endearing to the reader. The author writes dynamic characters for both genders which is clearly why his books appear to all generations and genders.
A brilliant new series from Jeffrey Archer which has left me screaming when is the next one out.
