I am now caught up in print with what's been shown on the TV. Winston Graham wrote some really great material for the show's writers to pull from, and the audiobook performance only enhanced it.

This book finishes the stories adapted for the first season of the new Masterpiece series. Like with the first one, they did a fairly good job of adapting it. The books and the show are both good, and I enjoyed them each in their own way. I think I will continue reading so I can find out what happens before finally getting season two!
It is official! I love these books more than the series. I think they did a great job casting, but these books are a wonderful read.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT HAPPENED.
I felt this way a few times during this read, particularly at the end. There were a few deaths in this book and two of them in particular I found very disturbing. One was quite satisfying, I must say even as a self-confessed pacifist.
I love this series, absolutely love it. It's funny, tragic, romantic, real. I got a sinking feeling towards the end as the sore throat sickness was spreading through the district.
Quirky supporting characters continued to shine in this follow-up to the brilliant first installment. I just love Jud with his "tedn right, tedn just..." etc.
My thoughts are fragmented in the aftermath of this read but needless to say I am hooked on the series, and am already started on book #3. I'm going to have to stock up on the remaining books so I can just keep churning through.
On a final note, it was good to see at least one "bad guy" get his just desserts in this book.

Really good! The plot points are more interesting in this book, probably bc we get more insight into Demelza as a character. Continues to have absolutely gorgeous writing, and love the introduction of Dwight. I do like that every character in this series is deeply complex and flawed in their own way—even when they’re making bad choices you can’t help but empathize with them
*4.5 Stars. Really loved getting deeper into the world of the Poldarks and the marriage between Ross and Demelza. It was beautiful!
