Sweet story. Pair with Duckling Days and Five Little Ducks for kindergarten. Pair with Duckling Days (fiction vs nonfiction) and Make Way for Ducklings (writing activity compare and contrast).

A very cute book about ducklings rescued from a storm drain accompanied by great water color illustrations.

This based-on-the-true-story book about ducklings rescued by firefighters after they fell down the storm drain (the ducklings, not the firefighters) is a bit sweet for me, but it has a nice storytelling quality to the voice.

Five little ducklings follow their mom on a walk through town. Mama duck makes it over the storm drain but her babies are so little they fall through the spaces. Human bystanders notice the commotion and in comes the fire department to try to rescue the ducklings.
Love the illustrations in charcoal and mixed media. My three-old really likes this book too. Simple problem with a simple solution.

Five little ducklings and their mama went for a walk one day and suddenly found themselves in peril and some good Samaritan onlookers pitch in to help the little ducklings.
Great mentor text to use with kids when addressing writing craft, especially with regard to effective repetition and a resonating ending.

Lovely, muted illustrations and a sweet story make this an enjoyable read. Based on a true story of a duck family out on a walk, when the baby ducklings fall through the grates of a storm drain. Young readers will enjoy "That could have been the end of the story. But it wasn't, because..."

Simple children's picture book. A true story of duckling rescue. The art was fine, the text was fine. But I wanted more. Certainly more then a silly list of duckling name repeated multiple times. Not a bad book, but it could have been better. 3.5 of 5.
