Quite a bit of interesting and detailed information about the people involved. One gripe I have is that Belloc alludes on occasion to people or events that presumably were common knowledge to his audience at the time without detailing or developing them even in footnotes. (I found myself pausing to look things up because they were details I did not know about.)

I think I liked his other book on the Reformation better because it was more focused on how the pieces fit together, but this book is worthwhile for understanding who the people were who made the choices they did.
