FMC is overbearing and actively oversteps boundaries knowingly. Plays victim to a lot of shit putting her partners through hell. Really no story line happening other than the polyamorous relationship and the FMC and one of the guys drama. Some funny parts but overall not worth all the pages. The spice was good but that’s about it

I read the prequel to the book and thought it was great. But this book stunk. To start, Rachel came off as wushu-washy and manipulative in the book. The other characters, Jake, Caleb, and Ilmari, were more interesting. However, the relationship between them felt forced. Each guy had an insecurity and it soon felt like a competition. Anytime the book tries to approach that subject for a real conversation, it barely covers it before jumping into an excessive make out/ sex session. Ilmari joins the relation halfway into the book but it still feels forced. I especially found Ilmari to be more interesting. The storyline about his injury and background was better compared to the other plot. However I didn’t like his relationship with Rachel. The biggest issue was how she handled him and his bio dad. At first, Rachel didn’t know that Dr. Hella was his bio dad but then she pushes Ilmari to forgive him and form a relationship. I’m sorry, I can excuse Rachel not knowing who Dr. Hella was to Ilmari but to push him to accept him was the straw that broke the camels back.

I loved this way more than I anticipated but I honestly think the addition of Mars as a part of their relationship took away from the way this story made me feel. I loved him as a character separately but it felt like he was thrown into the group and the scenes with him in it fell very flat for me personally. I also wish we had more insight into Jake and Caleb. I understand their arc happening as it did but felt almost cheated out of having more intimate scenes between them as these were some of my favorite.

Honestly, this book started so good with a good catchy story line and then as the book went on it just went downhill for me. I love me a spicy read but the second it got spicy that’s all it became. Just spice, no more good storyline to follow. And WAY too long, I had to start skimming through spicy scenes because I was so over it. If all you want is spice then this is for you! But unfortunately I was disappointed.
