The author mixes up a biblical story with a folktale-like account of how dogs became pets with wet noses. The story itself isn't bad, but the country bumpkin dialect that the author chooses to use is very distracting. It also removes the story of Noah from its original context in Mesopotamia, and thereby loses a lot of the cultural value that comes with an old, traditional story.
