For me, the artwork of any graphic novel ultimately determines whether I'd read it or not. That being said, I decided to take a chance on Warship Jolly Roger. Though the artwork wasn't completely to my liking, it still manages to take you on a gory adventure. I wasn't a huge fan of some of the flashbacks. They interrupted the story on many occasions and seemed to be placed in no particular order. But most importantly, they broke apart the action and suspense. The characters were your average ragtag team of criminals who only wish to live out their lives outside of a prison cell.
