While the writing was great, the storyline did not flow well. I think it had too many aspects to it that didn’t mesh well. End of the world, vampires, demons, psycho kids. It would’ve been better to just stick to a couple of those instead of trying for so many tropes. The overall story did well to drag out emotions but it gave me whiplash every time a new “issue” was added to the story.

Well, you know you really love a book when you finish it in two nights and then message the author that he's a jerk. 😆 Not because he did anything wrong, but because he did so much right he made you feel something you weren't expecting. 

Bunker Dogs grabbed me from page one. Gage's writing is seamless. His characters are well fleshed out and ridiculously relatable. Every time I turned the page I was begging my brain to read faster, while still not missing anything. With undertones of grief, loss, sacrifice, and plenty of self reflection, Bunker Dogs shows us that nothing is simply black and white. There are plenty of WTF moments, and I was not unhappy at all with where the story led me in the end.

This will easily be in the category of my faves of all time. 

I always go into horror books just wanting some scares and anxiety, but this delivered so much more. It ripped my heart out and shattered it into a million little pieces. Like, rest assured, it has all the scares and gore but you might also want to keep the tissues handy 🤧

I truly truly loved Cassie and the white wolf with my whole being and after reading this, I’m not okay. I’m just not okay 😭😭😭
