5...STILL...So much going on, and so engaging...Immediately loved and felt for Lis! She is still one of my faves! Decided to reread during quarantine since there is a more to this original trilogy...NOW! Hope it holds up!

I grabbed this audiobook because it seems like one of those books everyone should read at some point. I had ABSOLUTELY no idea what it was about going in, I didn't even know it was set in Sweden.
It took me a while to get into the story since there were so many seemingly unconnected plot lines and characters. However, once they all became intertwined I could not stop listening! It was so brilliant how he laid each plot out first and then in one fell swoop threaded them together.
*Spoiler*
I will say I found Lisbeth and Mikael's relationship to be a little weird and forced, but going into the 2nd book it does have a strong impact.
Still a little mad about how the Vanger business ended. I don't see how it would have effected Harriet's life that much or the business if no one was aware of Martin's life... But what do I know?

Hard to get started, but it drew me in.
I had to restart a few time to grasp the characters, but once past that, the story flew by quickly.

Not your average crime novel. It didn't build up to your single climax and then wind down to the end. There were three key subplots that had their own timelines and even after one had resolved itself, another was still progressing. It always kept me guessing.
