A cute anthology featuring several authors and their short stories on people meeting up (romantically). It was a bit of a hit/miss, I have found some gems, and some stories I just want expanded further than those pages. But I have also found stories I just didn't like. Sometimes because of the characters, but sometimes because it was just too short, the ending too abrupt.
But I did enjoy it. And I loved that not only do we have the standard coupling, we have various other couples going on. Mostly the MC's are girls, but there are also cases of them being boys.
I have written a short post/review for each of the stories + given them a rating. My favourite stories? The Dictionary of You and Me and The Unlikely Likelihood of Falling in Love. Those were my absolutely favs and I would highly recommend both of them.
Siege Etiquette by Katie Cotugno: 4 stars. This was pretty cute, though I feel that it would have been better longer. Now I have just quite a few questions, and the ending feels inconclusive. I was really hoping for much more. Wolf was pretty nice though, and I also liked Hailey when she was her true self.
Plus I like that this one is told from the You perspective, that is something you don't see often these days.
Print Shop by Nina LaCour. 5 stars. She did it again, this writer has the perfect way with words. I loved this story, it was cute, fluffy, sweet, adorable, and do I need to go on?
I was, like Lauren, unhappy about the Print Shop. She paid for that banner, she has a deadline. I am sorry, but you are going to have to fix it, and not dodge it with excuses. :| Sure, I did think she went a bit too far on Twitter, but I guess I would also be pretty pissed off if I was treated like this.
I loved our MC, Evie, she was sweet, smart, and determined. That ending was just too cute!
Hourglass by Ibi Zoboi: 1 star. I had to drag my butt through this story and I kept doing other things instead of reading. It was just too bland, too boring, I didn't see much cuteness or romance, not even when she met that guy. MC was so-so. Plus it ended like that? It was way too sudden. I know these are short, but dang. Wow, talk about even more bleh. What a disappointment after 2 great stories.
Click by Katherine McGee: 3.5 stars. This was a tad boring, but I still loved it. It was quite hilarious that her date turned out to be a chase around NY for her phone. I was already wondering why she was so desperate to get it back, but we find out why, and then I just wanted to run along with her.
Raden was just so sweet and interesting. I love that he loves photography.
Plus points to Dual POV + that cute ending!
The Intern by Sara Shepard: 2 stars for the beginning, 4.5 stars for the middle/ending. Yep, it started off pretty slow and I was getting bored of our MC, but then Phineas pop up, and they went walking through the city, and I just fell in love with the story. Clara was a pretty sweet girl eventually, I just needed to get to know her. Phineas was instant love. I knew he was a sweet/nice/caring. Ending = <3<3
Somewhere That's Green by Meredith Russo: 1.5 stars. I just didn't like this story much. I didn't like Lexie (not until the story was almost over), Nia was pretty nice and I was rooting for her. But the story just didn't click with me, and it took ages for something sweet/cute to happen (and I read this book for cute meetings and sweet stuff). Maybe if the POV was only about Nia... but no, we had to switch.
I did like that this story featured a transgender and also showed how supportive her parents were, and then also showed the opposite with how the school/adults weren't approving and how she felt about that.
The Way We Love Here by Dhonielle Clayton: 2 stars. I just couldn't get into this story. I loved the whole coils around one fingers + that would lead you to your soulmate, but I just couldn't form an image of the country/world. None at all, this made reading a lot more difficult, as my mind was trying to form an image.
But I did like the characters, Sebastien the most. I also like that this was different from the others.
Oomph by Emery Lord: 3 stars. An improvement from the past stories, but I still couldn't get into the story that much. I did like the characters though, especially Jo. She was just so sweet, and I loved the airport camping thing (which is absolutely brilliant, too bad we don't have those things here and I don't fly a lot (or at all)). I loved the ending, it just made me so happy and warm inside. I hope they meet again.
The Dictionary of You and Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout: 5+ stars! Yep, everyone can go away now, this here is my winner for this books. :P It takes place in a library! It has books! Fancy words! The conversations are just too cute and adorable! The characters are fun, I love Moss (poor thing with that name) and I love H. Smith. They were just tooooooo adorbs together when they finally met! Squee! Yep, I loved this one!
The Unlikely Likelihood of Falling in Love by Jocelyn Davies: 5+ stars! OK, OK, I said that the previous story was the best, but this one was perfect as well. It was cute, sweet, and normally I hate maths to the point where I want to destroy it off the face of the planet, but this was just too perfect and cute and I loved her project, and I was just squeeing and fangirling all the time while reading this. And then there was that ending. *Swoons* Also I had a laugh at the girl's parents, and how they pretty much react to maths the same way I do. :P
259 Million Miles by Kass Morgan: 4 stars. This was a pretty cute story, though at times I got a bit bored, plus I still don't like Philip 100%, I am not sure why. Not because of the thing that happened to him, oh no. Just how he was acting.
I did love Blythe though, she was just so fun, energetic, peppy, and sweet. I loved what she did for Philip. The test people? Bah, what a dick move. You don't do that to people The ending, awww! I do hope they are able to see each other again, someday! Yep this turned out to be a sweet story with lots of bravery, silly dances, off-key singing, and more!
Something Real: Julie Murphy: 3 stars. On the one hand I loved this story (especially our couple), but on the other hand I had to drag myself through it all. I knew from the start how Dylan was, sorry, but that is just how so many popstars turn out to be. I loved the dating show element, and also the challenge, the questions, and more. I loved how two girls found each other in the midst of all the chaos and rivalry.
Say Everything: Huntley Fitzpatrick: 3.5 stars. I quite liked this one, I liked Emma, finding out what happened to her family and why she is living in that place. Seeing her meet with Sean. See them have cute conversations. I loved the revelation that came with Sean and his first date. It was really sweet of him to do that for Emma. Not many would have done that. I hope these two will be together for a long time!
Department of Dead Love: Nicola Yoon: 2 stars. I do love the idea of a department like this. A place to go when your love dies and you want to start a new relationship/find out what happens. I just want to know more about this place, I want to see more on how it works.
The problem I had with this story is our MC. He is OBSESSED with his ex, and he wants everything to be back to normal. But then he meets his case worker and suddenly... well, I won't spoil. I just didn't feel anything between them. Nothing, not even a tiny spark.
All in all, a cute, sweet anthology and I am happy I read it.

Some really sweet reads in here. There were some that I really wanted more, I'd love to read a longer book to hear more of their story. But then there were others that were dull or I didn't connect with. Overall a cute collection of stories.

Super duper cute and fun. I actually listened to the audiobook and it was fun hearing all the different narrators! I think my fave was the Katherine McGee story followed by Nicola Yoon.

Loved it! So cute! Some stories weren’t as great as the others. My favourites were “Oomph” and “The Unlikely Likelihood of Falling In Love”.

Despite the fact that I love them, short stories are difficult for me to read. And these, stories where you only get the start of what could be something worth reading about, should have been especially hard to read. But they weren’t. While some definitely spoke to me more than others, every tale was utterly engagingly. Even without the resolution of seeing these budding relationships through to some kind of conclusion, I was left incredibly satisfied. I can’t promise you’ll feel the same. Everyone is different. And that’s part of the magic of these stories.

Meet Cute is a collection of short stories about how two people meet in a cute/extraordinary way. I enjoyed every story with Jennifer L. Armentrout and Jocelyn Davies’ works being my two favorites. I highly recommend this book if you’re a hopeless romantic who loves meet cute stories. It’s fun to read and every story is completely different from each other.
