I just didn't vibe with this book. I'm DNF'ing the series. What pushed me over the edge was the swearing of the vow at the end,(that the children have been saying since they were seven about not having a family and forgoing progeny AKA not having kids).

Wasn’t really vibing this tbh, felt like we didn’t really get to know the characters or the place, and that the story was just like zooming past and we didn’t really get anything super in-depth. I found I was confused as to why some people liked each other and why they didn’t, and I also just felt it was lacking substance. Not a terrible read, it just needed to be better.

surprisingly good. Interesting politics and conflict, I’m interested to see what happens next

I wanted to like this book, but in my opinion it was hard to get through. It took so long to get to the point of the book and even so it felt very unimapctful. Its like this book has to have a second book because you didn't have anything happen except learning about history of the characters and the world and a secret being devulged. Nothing else really happens to be noticed. It was a pure world building 1st book in a set.

No descriptions, what the hell do these dragons even look like.  Action scenes were shown from the other persons pov which loses the tension.
