I’m a little bummed that this felt so anti-climatic and slow after the first few chapters. It moved really slow.

This was a great middle grades read. Not sure how you could break it up to do a class assignment on one book since you need the series over all plot.

this one being from luke's perspective was literally so smart, i love that the series went full circle and ends with the same character that it started with 🥺
honestly i love luke so much there's nothing this kid can do that will make me hate him or even be annoyed with him he's so good.....so kindhearted.....so sad......
this did wrap up really.....quickly but overall it made sense for how these books were written

I finally finished this juvenile/YA series! "Among the free" is not how I interpreted what was going to be happening in this part--the final part--of this story, but it was true to the series.

Rereading this series shot me back into my childhood. No wonder I’m such an anarchist now. Go Luke. What a great series of brave kids standing up to fascism and abhorrent wealth inequality. 🙌🏼

This was the final book in the Shadow Children series and was probably my least favorite. I felt that the ending was a bit weak and rushed, with some big questions left unanswered. But, I would give the entire series as a whole a solid 3 1/2 stars. You definitely must be able to suspend your disbelief while reading these books, but they are fast-paced and exciting for the most part. I enjoyed my time reading them.

Loved the final book in the series! The end seemed rushed which is my only complaint.

this was a great ending to the shadow children series. You finally get to see what happens to all of the character and how the country will react once the shadow children have come out of hiding.
