So I won this book some time ago as a Goodreads giveaway. It finally made it to the top of a pile, so I read it.

This book is actually quite well written for one that is self-published. I usually come into them a little guarded, mostly because the quality is, well, lacking. I am happy to say that for much of this one, I forgot about that.

There are, however, a few things that I had a hard time getting past. My first comment is on the 'paranormal' aspects of the book. I REALLY wish they were played up more. I think they would have served the story better than the whole intrigue part with Greg being investigated. Of all the plot lines, I think this one was the weakest, and REALLY should have been left out.

I had issues with the characterization too. Greg just was too stereotypical of a cheater, and Logan was just too stereotypical of both the jilted wife of a cheater, and someone who has been sheltered sexually, and now finding her kinky side. And speaking of Logan, it REALLY bothered me that she technically was still married through most of this book.

I also had issues with there being too many Canadianisms in the book for characters who were not Canadian. For instance, trying to order a double-double south of the border WILL grant you some awfully funny looks, even though it's commonplace up here.

Overall, I just wished more was fleshed out. Places where I wanted to see more were glossed over in favor of the crap with Greg. To be honest, I wish Greg wasn't even in the book beyond the opening parts where Logan grows a spine and walks out on his sorry ass.
