I have always thought every person has a different kind of animal face.

The animals make me think of the same thing as when reading Maus - it's almost like a depersonalization. Even the simple humour gives this off. Layers of protection laid over ones self, to protect a core.

The stories were way too short to really care aboute those different women's journey. But it was interesting to see the struggle from a time were queer women had to be in the closet. It makes me only happy that we are not there anymore. At least in Canada.

I read this in french and understood most words!
It's a bunch of little lesbian coming of age stories from different women.
Cute, but it was just fine.

A very cute and quirky book that's great for a quick read. The art style adds to the charm and the stories are at times very dark and troubled or innocent and sweet. I found it to be relatable as we all have navigated the waters of love and found ourselves at the cusp of sexual awakening; namely the sort of excitement and thrill that brings into our lives. I found myself laughing at some of the stories of awkward first crushes and sharing in the pain of rejection by family and being forced to part with loved ones. Overall worth a flip through at the library or a cute coffee table book (although it does contain depictions of sex).
