A Deeper Love" by Cassandra Clare and Maureen Johnson is a heartwarming novella set during World War 2. It offers a captivating glimpse into the lives of Tessa Gray and Catarina Loss, two beloved characters from The Shadowhunter Chronicles.
Following the loss of William Herondale, Tessa and Catarina find solace in their wartime jobs as nurses. When Brother Zachariah arrives in need of their help, their bond deepens. This novella provides a fascinating look at these characters during a previously unexplored era in the Shadowhunter world.

You can say anything you want about Cassandra Clare's writing, worldbuilding and characters. But the way she writes about grief and companionship and love that defies time resonates with me deeply.

“You need me, and I need you. I do not leave you. No matter what happens, I do not leave you.”
I don’t even think this was the best one yet, but I’m trash for Tessa, and everything that has the littlest bit of Tessa in it gets a five stars for me. But I think I might have cried a bit too much.
31. A book set in a country you’d like to visit but have never been to

I was surprised, I was expecting something more. It felt really short and without much real content.
I loved The Bane Chronicles and Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy, I felt like those novellas were a bit more complex and had more plot than Ghosts of the Shadow Market. So far I am not impressed with this collection. 'Every Exquisite Thing' is the only one I have enjoyed so far.

I might have cried had I not been reading this one at work. Did tear up a bit. I fell in love with Jem even more than I already was. He's such a good man. Great story.
