Dumb Witness

Agatha Christie

This was very entertaining. Part of me feels like Agatha Christie took misdirecting a bit too far into blatant deception of the reader, but even that overreach is brilliant because Hastings is continually accusing Poirot of the same thing throughout the book. Well played, Dame Christie.

I love any Poirot book with Hastings, so automatically bumped up a rating.

With Agatha Christie, I usually know I'm going to enjoy it, but here I just wasn't into this book. It took a long time for Poirot to come in and for the mystery to finally get going not to mention there was far too much focus on the family drama, which has been done with Christie before, it was just so dry to read. Recommended only for completionists.

A really, really good mystery (as always), but trigger warning for suicide
