Bit boring really, skimmed to finish. Was expecting a period piece but it kind of just a bodice ripper with accents and nuns.

A bit predictable, which i didn't mind, it was just longer than necessary.

2.5 stars. Lured in by the settings, put out by the lackluster romance.

Parts of this were really fun but I had a problem with the hero acting like a jerk to the heroine for great swaths of the book. Could have used some good grovel. I did really like the ingenious heroine, though. I'm always looking for solid Medievals so I'll probably try another from this author.

I love this kind of book... long drawn-out "enemies" to lovers plot. The "husband test" was such a clever plot line, even if one guessed what was coming. The character development within the male protagonist was a little shallow, filled out more by information by his knights. And the conclusion happened quickly. Nevertheless, I was happy for every page of this story.
