Very predictable from the start (pretty much can already guess all the "twists" - there's plenty of not-so-subtle hints) but I still enjoyed the process and the world building is interesting enough.
The witty banter & action scenes were well-written.
Only complaint was the plot moved at a snail's pace, and there was a lot of repetitive thoughts/verbage.
I do wonder how much of my opinion is skewed because I knew Hawke was Casteel before going into this series. Therefore I knew the betrayal was coming, and this might have affected how much I liked/disliked the characters.

I really enjoyed the banter between Poppy and Hawke. They made a good pair together. I thought this book was pretty original when it came to the concept of everything going on. I liked that the world building was more of a slow reveal than a huge info dump at the beginning of the book.

I would give it a 3.5 if I could. Poppy was kind of annoying with how naive she acted at times. Hoping for some character development later in the series
