What a charming and heartwarming story! I love picture books for their beautiful art and the simplicity of the stories. It can be difficult to strip a story down to convey the themes and message to all audiences.
This picture book speaks to the love and generosity that can be the most lovely part of the Christmas season. It is based on the true story of a young boy in 1933 who discovers the joy of giving and bringing happiness to the people you love. I loved the themes of generosity, love, and thoughtfulness! The family connection and care was so sweet too! The art was on the realistic side, which made the story feel more real. I really enjoyed this story and would definitely recommend it to those ready to get into the Christmas spirit! It is probably the reading level for early elementary, but fun to read together with younger readers!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.
