If what I am reading is correct, this is Samathe Beck’s debut and what a fantastic job she did on her first book. Both Ellie and Tyler are very fun and loving characters that I really found myself liking them.
After making a deal with Tyler, Ellie starts out a little nervous and hesitant with all that is about to happen but as time goes on, I started to see her grow into her own skin when it involved Tyler and the bedroom. Even though she referred to the chapters in her book, she slowly started to throw the lesson plans out the window and just goes with her feelings that bubbled up when Tyler was around. This is what I really liked because Ellie’s character felt like the kind that did everything by the book and would never stray. I felt like she was the kind of person that was book smart but not street smart (would think logically and not emotionally), but when she started to feel something other than just being a student to Tyler, she really had to recognize her feelings and couldn’t consult in a book.
Tyler’s character is basically the town’s man whore. I mean you don’t give a character the nickname Tyler “Footlong” Longfoot just for the fun of it. ☺ He is not the kind of guy that will bring you flowers and wine and dine you. However, he slowly starts to change after spending some time with Ellie. He realizes that there is more to Ellie than just the deal that they make; there are common interests, a good rapport, and the fact that they sizzle together in the bedroom doesn’t hurt at all.

A Smart, Sensual, and Fully Enjoyable Contemporary Romance...
This one is a re-read of sorts for me as I first found “Private Practice” by Samanthe Beck in the Chapters story app, and despite my penchant for darker, more violent things I admit I am not fully immune to the charms of a good old fashioned vanilla romance, and being intrigued by the premise gave it a try. After enjoying the Chapters app version immensely I decided to seek out the full-length book in order to enjoy the original story as the author intended as I find the app editions loosely based and often not at all similar to the original books. To my relief the app version is closely linked to the original and overall the full story is a charming and safely sensual (for those a bit shy for the more erotic fare) and enjoyable read.
Here Beck gives us the story of Dr. Ellie “Sparky” Swann the twenty-eight year old accomplished and extremely disciplined general practitioner who comes back to her hometown of Bluelick Kentucky to open her own medical practice and look after her ailing father. A woman with a single minded, wild woman, idea of how to capture the heart of her teenage crush who she finds out is recently single, a most unusual idea for which she enlists the help of the town heart throb. And said heart throb himself, Tyler Longfoot, the disarmingly handsome construction company owner four years Ellie’s senior. A man known by Ellie and every other woman in their tiny town as a womanizer, famous as much for his ‘love-em and leave-em’ ways as he is for his work ethic, now a self-made man who isn’t quite what he appears to be.
What follows is a delightful story of growing up, discovering who you are beyond your high school labels, and finding love in the right places rather than the ones you think you should. It is a tale of learning to trust one’s own heart and moving past the fear a troubled childhood often inflicts and learning to trust and truly follow your heart.
It is a sweet and aww inducing story of overcoming childhood trauma and learning to both embrace the unexpected and accept love. And I promise you, you will fall in love with these characters. The care and protection Tyler affords Ellie with melt your heart and make you sigh. The sex kitten lengths Ellie will go to, to get her man will make you giggle.
Is it a wildly erotic fifty shade-esque leather and lace type of fare many of you are seeking? No, no it is not. This one is rather mild and very vanilla in sensibility. However, what it lacks in mainstream spice it makes up for in intelligently written, heartfelt emotional growth. It is wholly relatable and very, very sexy. The chemistry between Ellie and Tyler is undeniable. Their journey from tutor/student to couple surprisingly genuine and humor filled. It is a story that will make you smile and fill you with squishy love tingles and well worth the read.

closer to 3.5 for me Ellie was a little clueless all the way to the end for me. but Tyler totally rescued this Yum.

I freaking LOVED this book!!!! I can't stress that enough. The writing was fantastic, I loved the story. It's not wild or crazy or angsty, it's just an awesome sweet story of a couple from the south. Maybe this appeals to my inner southern girl as I can relate and could clearly picture the events of the book, or maybe that was the awesome writing that allowed for the visuals to form while reading the story? Either way, this book is definitely a MUST READ! It was HOT HOT HOT! And I don't just mean the sex, while that was hot, the kissing scenes in this story are probably some of the most well written and hottest kissing scenes I've ever read and that's definitely saying something!

I'm finally catching up on my TBR pile...figured I'd start with my Entangled Brazens. This was an excellent choice. The story was light-hearted enough, with lots of funny humor & steamy chemistry!
