a lot of this felt like the author trying to fill a word quota. the overuse of “aka” made me want to screech.

there are almost too many pov’s, although i did enjoy the overlap into a pretty solid ending. it just seemed to be too much at some points. the romance between the love interests felt really dry & kind of forced. i guess romance isn’t the main theme of the book but it still felt really lazily done.

not as good as the first book :(

3,5 ⭐️ So, what did I think of this book? Honestly, I don’t really know. I read “They both die at the end” when it became popular on tiktok and it was actually the book that got me into reading again. As grateful as I am of that fact I can now with certainty say that it was extremely overrated. I believe that it got the fame that it did because people, just like me, hadn’t read a book in a long time. It was quite simple and the writing was really plain, however, this book was something different. A much longer story, but still played out during only 24 hours. I LOVED the parallels and the characters (especially Val). If you’re looking for a book to make the time go this would be it. I listened to this book and I am grateful that I did, cause I don’t think I would have finished it otherwise. The narrators did a great job portraying the characters and Anthony Kayvan will always be a favorite of mine. Read it/don’t read it? Wouldn’t really say it makes a difference. Would I with the knowledge of how it was advice myself to read it if i hadn’t already? Probably.

Would’ve been higher but there were a few coincidences I couldn’t look past.
The book would’ve been better without the additions of characters from the first book. Those POV chapters were my absolute least favorite chapters.
