This kind of score is why can't trust review scores on Goodreads in the least.

Oh sure, the first novel starts out well enough, if as derivative as anything you've ever read. Still, a guilty pleasure can be fun nonetheless.

But it's gets a lot less fun, and a whole lot of just plain lost by the very beginning of the second novel, which just turns into pure drivel as Paolini stops stealing Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars and D&D campaign books and tries to "go off on his own".

One of those obsessed with a "logical magic system" which just gets utterly painful to read, as if everything else in it isn't disappointing. Just plain avoid, go read Game of Thrones instead. At least when that's a guilty pleasure it's a much better one.

Eragon is truly the best of the series. But they are all excellent scifi/fantasy.

a very good work to start fantasy if you are not familiar with this genre, it got a good speed, not a lot extra information and a good storyline that you can follow easily and sometimes it makes you to read faster to reach further pages to see where writer wanted to take you...
of course it has the lake of hidden scenarios or making you to think about the story (it got very few things to surprise you) but you can live without that
i don't know the fact if the writer made a complete language for some races, but he made some new things that we can call it language (not as complete and awesomeness of Tolkien languages)

and at the end i can say it's a book that if you miss it, maybe you get sad after a while, it's good for taking break between rich and heavy books

These books introduced me to the world of fantasy as a kid and they have a very special place in my heart. The story is gripping and memorable, I love them so much.

Great YA fantasy books. My only complaint is that the books are SO long. I felt like they just dragged on and on and on... With that said, I am anxious to read the 4th and final book and see how the adventure ends.
