It's a Danaeris-Kal Drogo fanfic with a dash of IPB plot. It's not terrible, but it's not that good either. At one point I wondered how several different groups of people could come and go several times through the same exact spot without seeing each other or at least traces of the other groups. The time line wasn't timing.

I recommend this book.

I really liked the MMC. He was definitely an alpha, but was sweet to the FMC, too. The FMC left a lot to be desired though. Her thoughts were very repetitive, and she came across as a bit dumb. And, this when she is supposed to be a tough, wily bounty hunter. There was insta-love for the MMC, but it started a bit more slowly for the FMC. The empath / mind-mate aspect was really cool.

The world building in this book was good - sand planet; alien tribes; critters; etc. In addition to the main storyline of this book (MMC & FMC getting together), there were many side storylines - what's going on with the rival bounty hunter (in space); enemy tribes of aliens killing their people and stealing their women; a power struggle in our MC's tribe; etc. I hope the author continues to expand on the world and the side storylines in the following books in the series.

The Sand Warrior Barbarians are hotter than the planet they live on.
I loved the adventure, the characters and could easily see me (someone who hates getting sand on me), living with one of these sexy barbarians. ❤️‍

Bounty is the first book I've read by this author and I have to say, I'm really impressed. The set up for the series was really well done. The characters and their conflicts are very defined and I enjoyed the start of this journey. Danica and K'alvek are interesting on their own but are fantastic together. The idea of being so connected to another person that your minds share emotions and it started before they ever met was a cool concept.

Danica is shown as tough and smart as well as loyal. She's dedicated to her crew (her family) and spends most of the book trying to get back to them. She's worried about each female she commands and yet still has some really heated moments with K'alvek. The teachings of her father both helped and hindered her in her relationship with the sand barbarian because she was taught to trust no one, especially men. This made her cautious to go all in with K'alvek, but I also think it made everything K'avlek did all the more special to her. She had always counted on herself and her crew and now she had someone else that she could lean on.

K'alvek, on the other hand, has one goal when we are first introduced to him- seek vengeance for his father's murder. Upon meeting and rescuing Danica, he is thrown off that path, though he constantly thinks about how he is failing his "mission" because he cares for her and sets out to save the rest of her crew. Danica gives him a new direction and he fights it for most of the book, until it becomes clear that she is more important to him than his desire for vengeance.

The background characters are more than just there to add life to the world. They each have stories and moments to shine and have chapters where they take the lead. That's an interesting approach and one I really enjoyed. Tori is a complete bad ass. Max is smart and kind. Caro and Holly are interesting. Bexli- oh I can't wait for her book. Kush! I'm so ready to read about him and Max. Tommel seems like my type of alien- grumpy and growly but with a good heart. All of them! Just all of them! I can't wait to read the next book.

An all female bounty hunter crew, are ambushed after finding the female doctor with a large bounty on her head.  They are all left on sand covered planet by the captain of the ship that ambushed them.  Danica the captain finds her mind mate and all but one of the women are rescued.  The book ends with Dr Max being taken by a rival tribe and into their city.

Barely 3 ⭐️ Cliffhanger Ending.
Better than I feared, not as good as I hoped.

Biggest complaint, the dialogue makes you cringe at times, superficial, tries too hard.
You will read about how she is ‘The Captain’, of a ‘badass all-women bounty hunters’ crew, over and over again.
Someone forgot to tell her, that if you have to fly your own flag so often, and so desperately, it’s cause even you are having doubts!
At the end, you just sound desperate, not convincing.

My issue (and apparently few others [?]), strong woman, who secretly enjoys being dominated by a male, grrrr!
Why bother making her strong, if you’re just gonna make her beg later. Oh wait, it’s okay, cause it’s only in the bedroom.
Oh, and this other time, and this one, and …

Having vulnerable moments, no probs. Having an occasional meltdown after one too many catastrophes, totally fair. Being Soooo turned on cause he’s so strong, dominating, controlling, and you can be all weak and ‘girlie’ (cause that’s what it means to be a girl, weak), SO NOT COOL.

Story is a bit shallow, lacks details in places.
Longer than a novella, shorter than a book.
Not just a cliffhanger, but just halts the story in place, mid-chapter.

Box set $1 on Amazon. That’s fair warning.
Was kinda hoping for a Space Opera Romance, with a few kick-ass females … keep hoping.
Think more cheesy alien abduction story-telling.
The synopsis is deceiving!!

Probably my bad.

this book was so damn good. the best way to describe it is like if star war meets ice planet barbarians. i love that theres a good plot line for what i’d consider a smut book and the badass female bounty hunter crew is dope as hell. and there is no major pregnancy trope!?? i can see it happening later on in the series possibly but so far i am enjoying reading about these bad bitches finding their giant sexy alien mind mates.

Going to give it 4 stars because I was really enjoying the charaters and the story. The only thing that is holding me back is the ending. I didn't know when I first started reading it that it was part of a series. And while J am happy that it is a series and didn't try and rush the story or try and answer the questions, it just didn't seem to wrap up that couples story as neatly.
