Mr. Silver is the 5th book in the Kinds of Cypress Pointe series. This book could be read as a standalone, but I feel it is best to be read in order, as the background characters are in the first two books. This book is told from dual points of view by Sterling and Lexi. With cameos from Pandora.

This book goes to the past and we see why Lexi hates Sterling. Now it brings us to the present day, and something happens and Sterling uses Lexi to get out of trouble. With him using her, she realizes she can use him back by making him fake date her for 6 months.

As they are fake dating they learn more about each other and we learn what happened that night from the past. Pandora is also there and digging up secrets. They each have something going on in their lives. Will their fake dating evolve to real dating? Will Pandora expose all of their secrets? Will they get their happy ending?

I can't wait to see what happens next in this series, and to finally figure out who Pandora is!

I gave this book 4 stars, purely out of love for the characters I feel I know so well at this point.
After waiting an entire year for this book, and technically, for the 4 books previous to finally have some clarity regarding Sterling's story,I find myself disappointed by his arc in the series.
The story felt rushed, and some loose ends were never fully tied up with both Lexi, and Sterling. There was no real conclusion with Lexi's boss, the confrontation that didn't happen with her bio father,or with her former stalker,Cole. Just abrupt circumstances which felt odd, instead of adding to a cohesive flow in the story. Very unsatisfactory given the foundations laid for all 3 of these men in her life in the early chapters.
If anything, this book's mysterious air was given to Dez more than any other character.
Overall,I am left frustrated and disappointed. To wait so long for a good and meaty storyline,(I mean for heavens sake,West got 3 books to tell his) to now having to wait ANOTHER year for a conclusion. I feel strung along. Even the "romantic" scenes in this book felt forced and it just seemed the authors weren't really into it. Maybe just ticking boxes and bulletpoints.
Hopefully the 6th and final book will give the readers a
desirable ending, and true conclusion. I will read it,but I won't be waiting with the great anticipation I formerly had for this series.

Sterling and Lexi’s story reinvigorated my addiction to the Golden Boys! Lexi has cemented her place amongst the women who bring these boys to their knees. Sterling might have become my new favorite golden boy.

The fake relationship trope is fun when done right, and this one was done right. The sass/banter, the inner monologues, and the difficulty in dealing with real feelings—all lead to entertaining moments.

Exhibit A:
Rodriguez is smiling so big I can see every damn tooth in her head, but I’m supposed to believe she’s not into this guy.
Fucking Matt Logan.
What kind of dickhead name is that?
We agreed not to make each other look like dumb-asses, but she’s already fucking this up.
A group of chicks walk past the food truck where I’m seated on a bench, waiting for this “date” to start. All five are using everything in their arsenal to get my attention—eye-banging me, swinging their asses extra hard, the whole act—but as pissed as I am, I hardly even notice. I’m seeing red. All because Rodriguez doesn’t seem to know what it means to keep her end of the damn deal.
Girlfriend: On my way. Be there in five.
I shove my phone back in my hoodie and don’t bother responding. Between now and her overly-friendly ass showing up, I have to shrug off this frustration, so she doesn’t pick up on it. Girls tend to read too much into these things, mistaking them for feelings that don’t actually exist.

These authors have the balancing act down. Just enough heat, humor, and emotional tug to keep me hooked.

From the very beginning of this series, I never thought that one of the Golden siblings would replace top ranking of the other, but with each subsequent book it's happened. Sterling and Lexi have not only joined the ranks with the other Golden couples, their story has turned out to be one of my favorites.

Fake relationships AND enemies to lovers are two of my favorite tropes and Mr. Silver has both. Reading this fantastic book was like diving into my favorite foods. Once I start I can't stop, it's yummy and delicious, leaving me full and ultimately satisfied with that high feeling and always wanting more when I'm barely done. That was me reading this entire book. Start to finish, I couldn't put it down, laughing, sighing, and loving this couple through to the very last page.

Lexi Rodriguez is a total spitfire from the very beginning. She doesn't budge an inch allowing Sterling into her emotional circle. Does she use his situation to her advantage...oh yeah she does, which I absolutely adore about her. Lexi is no wallflower to the ultimate Golden boy of Cypress Pointe, but I also love that she softens along the way, allowing Sterling to view the sensitive woman underneath that tough exterior she always wears. That girl has all been but extinguished inside her and Sterling has the rare advantage to know the real Lexi without abusing that privilege.

Sterling finds himself in a pickle and the only person able to pull him out of it just so happens to be the one girl who hates his guts. Sterling and Lexi, frenemies at best, form a fake relationship to help Sterling out of said pickle and while on a good day these two hold their animosity at arms length at best, they now have to look like they are dating in the public eye. How will they ever pull this off?

Understanding, appreciation, and emotional support go a long way in building what was broken between them, and while neither was looking for something long term out of this fake relationship (they were honestly just hoping not to kill one another) things changed that neither one of them ever saw coming.

I think what I loved most of all is that neither one of them originally went into this fake relationship with nefarious plans set to destroy the other one, but as their relationship grew organically they also didn't run and hide.  Both Sterling and Lexi were a beautiful surprise to this fantastic series and like I said above, this book was like enjoying one of my favorite meals. Totally delicious!

Mr. Silver
Kings of Cypress Pointe, Book 5
By: Rachel Jonas, Nikki Thorne
Narrated by: Bridget Bordeaux, Jake Bordeaux

This series is amazing! If you haven't heard the first four books, go back and listen. This book does stand alone, but you will want all the background! I was so excited that we finally get Sterling's story. The third of the Golden triplets, he finds himself in a compromising position. Lexi sees him leaving the Dean's house, no clothes and in trouble. He is now depending on Lexi to help him out of this situation with a fake relationship, giving him his alibi. But Lexi was burnt years ago by the handsome Sterling, and she gives him her own terms and the two are off and running. The two find out so much about each other, and though they don't want to give in, their feelings begin to grow. But will anyone realize their relationship is fake? Rachel Jonas and Nikki Thorne keep our hearts in with these two, but it's not all roses. Lying in the wings is a danger they don't see coming! A little suspense, a good time to visit the brothers and their girlfriends and a chance to see how things turn out with their father! A wonderful addition to this fabulous series.

Bridget and Jake Bordeaux are wonderful together, and they brought this story to life. Bridget is Lexi, and I love her insecurities as well as they way she covers it with a confidence! Jake understands Sterling and we get to hear him grow. Their portrayal of the story is spot on, and kept me entertained throughout the story.

I devoured this one in just over 12 hours. Sterling was so misunderstood and the fact that he was being preyed upon by a family friend since he was 15 was so sad. I kinda fell in love with his character. Close second was Lexi’s step dad.

I effn loved this book. I just thought I was in love with Pretty Boy D nuh uh Sterling is in a class all by himself. This is the 2nd book I've read in this series and book friends if you haven't started it yet you definitely need to. I can't get enough of these Golden tripletts, but this is the final triplett who finds himself in a pickle one night and the person to witness his disgrace is none other than the girl who hates him Lexi Rodriguez as they have a history from the past and let's just say that day wasn't Sterlings finest hour. There's so many things that happen in here you just have to read it and find out for yourself. This is definitely a must read.

#Mr. Silver is my new favorite in the Kings of Cypress Pointe series, and without a doubt, one of the top reads of 2021.

While this is a stand-alone, I believe it's best to read the series to fully appreciate it, as the dynamics of the Golden Crew play an important role in each couple's story.

Lexi is as sassy as they come; she doesn't take anything from anyone; she's got a fire burning inside her; her personality may be fiery, but her heart and emotions are on ice. She has a group of friends she adores, but she keeps them at a safe distance, never allowing them to see too much of her, to avoid any further pain. She's already been dealt more than her fair share, and one of those times was by none other than #Mr. Silver.

Sterling carries himself with a cockiness that seems to have been ingrained in the Golden Boys from birth, but he's so much more than that. For years, he'd been carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, and not being able to share it with his brothers was wearing on him. He had his sights set on the prize, did everything he could to protect his family, and put everything he had into football. He hadn't expected to find what his brother had, let alone with the girl who had despised him for years.

When Sterling and Lexi were near each other, you could feel the animosity that surrounded them. But it was the connection between them that filled every page with palpable energy that they couldn't deny, no matter how hard they tried. Once they were able to let go of their animosity from the past, everything between them became as natural as breathing; they had this ability to read each other that made every feeling between them that much more tangible.

This story had an unexpected level of emotion for me, or maybe it was because aspects of Lexi's feelings were personal to me. I recognized some of my own fears in hers. The fears we try our best to keep locked away, never allowing anyone to see the brokenness inside that prevents us from letting anyone fully in, all while subconsciously hoping maybe someone will see it and find a way through our barriers and prove to us that our fears are unfounded.

Jonas and Thorne have created a world that will keep you glued to the pages, absorbing the words like you need them to live; a Gossip Girl type drama that is nothing short of addictive, emotions that will wrap their way around your heart, and characters that will embed themselves in your soul.

#Mr. Silver is an addictively all-consuming blend of a tangible connection, a possessive alpha, a fiery heroine, scathing looks and snarky retorts, secrets revealed, drama like only Cypress Pointe can deliver, emotionally gripping, fervid levels of steam, and a group of friends who transitioned from a crew to their own family.

DNF 28% I feel super creepy reading about 19 year olds having sex. I thought maybe the characters would be in their early 20's by the time they started fake dating. I even tried to mentally make them mid 20's but it wasn't working. What I did read wasn't too bad, I just don't like feeling like a pedo when I read romance
