Great, easy Halloween read that's not too scary and follows that familiar counting pattern of "over in the..." I like that there are mothers and fathers with their not-so-spooky offspring.

A lovely Halloween picture book. My preschooler enjoyed the illustrations, counting, and rhyming text. My elementary aged kids enjoyed finding all the alliteration in the book.

Little Gobins Ten by Pamela Jane and illustrated by Jane Manning is a fantastic Halloween version of the classic folk song "Over in the Meadow." Instead of turtles and foxes this version features silly zombies, goblins and bats. My students loved the book and the text fit the song well making it very singable.

This book will be loved by readers 3-8

Since I'm planning on doing a counting bats game, this will be perfect. Also, a great opportunity for audience participation.

Funny, lovely, rhyming counting book for those of us with a fondness for monsters and halloween.

Got this from the library while my nieces were visiting and the two-year-old adored it. She asked for it each night and would “read” it to herself by counting to ten over and over. I really enjoyed it too.

Wonderful illustrations and only-slightly-spooky characters in this Halloween version of "Over in the Meadow." Counting to 10 likely too long for storytime, but could stop at 5.
