Description:
In a world where magic and science sit side by side, and powerful witches are considered necessary aides for all governments, Lizzie Grace is something of an outlier. Though born into one the most powerful blue blood witch families, she wants nothing to do with either her past or her magic.
But when she and Belle, her human familiar and best friend, open a small cafe in the Faelan werewolf reservation, she quickly finds herself enmeshed in the hunt for a vampire intent on wreaking bloody havoc. It’s a hunt that soon becomes personal, and one that is going to take all her skills to survive–that’s if the werewolves, who hate all things witch, don’t get her first.
My Thoughts:
This was my first Kerri Arthur book and wow I really enjoyed it. Blood Kissed honestly had me hooked from the first page. The story was intriguing all throughout. The whole book I was like are they going to catch the vampire or who is the vampire? I just had to know.

I also loved all of our characters but I have to say that lizzie and belle were my favorites. Both of their backgrounds and connection made a wonderful friendship, the way the dialougue between them was written was very compelling. It really felt like they have been friends for years. The Last thing I really enjoyed was the slow burn enemy to lovers romance that happened. I swoon for that couple. It’s going to be exciting to see that unfold more and more.
Oh this was just a wonderful book. Now I'm not going to say this book was perfect. I was hoping the magic we would see would be more magicy and less “I have a feeling”. But honestly I think that will change over the series.
If you enjoy slow burn romance and paranormal creatures. Than this if for you. I am looking forward to the rest of this series and giving her other series a try. :)

This book had its good moments and its bad moments. I'm tempted to read the next book to see the romance properly develop (major slow burn) but I'd also be perfectly fine not reading more in the series.
I haven't read Keri Arthur before and this series seemed like a good starting point. Overall this is pretty standard urban-fantasy fair. While I enjoyed the witch angle that wasn't enough to really bring it up to above-average. Quite a bit of the interaction between Lizzie and Aiden seemed forced and not because there is tension between the two characters. The romance angle, something I generally don't mind, was rather predictable as well.
Don't get me wrong though, the story itself was interesting even if I felt like there were some areas that were just average in the telling of it. I kind of like the world-building even if I wish there had been a little more of it and the supernatural aspect is fairly well done save the deus ex machina moments. There's enough good here for me to go ahead and get the second book in the series and see where it takes the characters.
