I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't as scary as the first one, though. This was more about mystery and the three solving it. I still thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a lot more character growth in this, too. Pip especially grew a lot. I seriously can't wait for the next book!

[2.5 - 2.75ish.] To leave it vague, I'm really not vibing with how the stories from their books are affecting the characters now. I don't know where the story is going g now and I don't know if I want to find out. Instead of a Goosebumps-like scare, this was mostly a spooky-ish quest (emphasis on the ish). I'm not in the targeted age range, which might be it.

I liked the first book better, even though I like this one as well. This one has less mystery and more lore building. Still a 4.5 stars read for me! I cannot wait to see how the story ends.

Reality faced in fantasy….a new concept for me but I liked it. I don’t expect a happy ending but I expect strong stories.
