A wacky YA scifi adventure book 1 in a new series by Neal Shusterman and Eric Elfman
This whole books is totally strange, but they absolutely lost me in the freezer scene when Sahara wrapped herself up in his blubber and they both fell asleep like that. (Apparently, being wrapped up in blubber feels like being wrapped up in tofu.)
Graphic: Body horror
It's not technically body horror, but a lot of the things that happen to Noah and the eyelid-less lady are just gross. It's vividly painted and disgusting. But I'm not a big body descriptions kinda person.

"My name is Noah Prime. You killed my backup father. Prepare to die!"
This sci-fi novel only gets more bizarre from pg 1. If you're into aliens, conspiracy theories, and lemonade, this book might be for you :)
The cast: Noah starts out as a typical middle-schooler w/ strange animal powers. Ogden's an idiot & genius in equal measure, and Sahara's a gymnast w/ wit to spare.
The story: A new take on the biblical ark, this book has plenty of twists (that become progressively more wild) as Noah learns more about who he is and his purpose.
The verdict: As someone who doesn't read much sci-fi, the concepts spanning alien tech, memory, timelines, and teleportation were admittedly hard to wrap my head around. New ideas were slung at a dizzying pace and some belief suspension is required.
That being said, there's a ton of clever snippets & references throughout, and it's still fun to follow along as Noah uncovers the truth.

Fun adventure of galactic proportions, but with such a sweet heart. Noah and his friends are an oddball group of kids dealing with huge issues, but outsmarting even their biggest foes. This witty and imaginative story will be perfect for younger teens, even more reluctant readers.
