Short and (bitter)sweet in a very Madeline Miller kind of way. Really loved her transformation of this myth!

Been enjoying swift reads lately and happy to finally finished Galatea. This brought a fresh perspective of another popular Greek myth involving Galatea and Pygmalion but the short novel focused on Galatea's inner experience as a goddess-given being and subject to nothing else instead of being another beautiful damsel and heaven-certified work of art. Despite her circumstance, Galatea resolved a life decision of redirecting her purpose as a wife and mother that sentenced the imbalances of her relationship with the unnamed husband. Truly, good for her!

Good read!

Well this was incredibly disturbing! I definitely should’ve found trigger warnings first.
